In an amusing way, it first describes common team issues certainly every developer has suffered from during his career like "the blame game", "the Rambo developer" or "tail chaising". Then, it gives you a bunch of simple techniques how to grow a commited, appreciated and well-communicating team, getting developers out of passivity or 9-to-5 mode, involve remote people and keeping you from taking the role of an omniscient and supervising team lead. Moreover, you'll learn how to improve your agile processes, how to sneak-in buzz methodologies like BDD or Impact Mapping and establish processes involving the whole team leading to the creation of much more valuable software. Maybe the book focuses too much on BDD in the end. I think introducing and maintaining this technique will not be something that can be done in a matter of days or weeks like most of the things mentioned before.Summary: A very good read for everyone interested in how to build an effective software development team nowadays, also helping to escape from passive or bossy leadership. No long theory, but hands-on experience wich you can absorb during a weekend.
