The methods are certainly not modern and this was evidently written before the spring rat traps we have today were developed. Information on rats, and where to find them around farms would still be relevant today, even if the elaborate rat death machines are not. As a rat destruction manual, it is outdated, but as a historical work from a different era it holds some intrigue.

They can be a predator hunters devious, secretive, and furtive prey. This book details one mans efforts and knowledge of their eradication. Often times his messages can seem repetitive, but if you need to have a war with rats: know your enemy. This book is chocked full of basic and advanced knowledge to know and understand how rats are rats.

The aurthor had both field and lab experience, which shows in the scientic and thorrow approach of this book. It should be noted that this book is better for the history of rat trapping than a modern how to book.
