Ellie Danes has done it again! And just what has she done, you ask? She has created another spellbinding contemporary series filled with lust, love and consequences. Oh my! Danes kicks off her serial with Chosen By Him and yes, I said serial which means multiple installments and dare I say it, cliffhangers. Yikes! Although I recognize this may not be everyone's cup of tea, I personally love the excitement and anticipation of a great serial and look forward to those nail biting, heart pounding, what will happen next endings. And Danes delivers in spades! The story is fresh, modern, exciting, believable, riveting, romantic, arousing, seductive and sensual. This is not erotica but does contain some adult material including some very tasteful sex scenes. The dialogue is smart and flows smoothly. There are a few editing errors but overall, well done. The characters are the most important component in this story as seems to be the case in most of Danes books. They take center stage and as the story unfolds, Danes does an exceptional job of the development of her two main players. They are captivating, intriguing, engaging, life-like and sexy. She expertly combines these elements to craft a deliciously romantic and delightfully entertaining read. Twenty four year old MBA student, Summer Farris, is beautiful, intelligent and hard working and wants nothing more than to excel and become successful in her field. Her current goal is to win a business internship with her professor, handsome billionaire Chase Kerns, but when she is passed over for one of the five coveted slots, she is beyond devastated. She and her roommate, Alyssa, decide to drown their mutual disappointment at a local bar just off campus where she sees Professor Kerns with one of his colleagues. After several drinks of liquid courage, Summer makes a fool of herself by confronting her professor and leaves the bar, embarrassed and quite a bit tipsy. She decides to walk home but is conveniently offered a ride by her professor. Hmmm.......I wonder if the handsome Professor Kerns is as attracted to the lovely Summer as she is to him. It seems he is! Oh my! Sparks Fly! This could be the recipe to either an exciting, loving relationship or a perfectly horrible disaster. I wonder which it will be??? No spoilers from me but I will say this......Beautiful, intelligent grad student who is hardworking, independent, career-minded, ambitious and very competitive-check! Handsome, charismatic billionaire who owns his own business but is also a college professor and is head over heels in lust with one of his students-check! A previous inappropriate relationship which ended in disaster and blackmail-check! Heated attraction, fiery passion, forbidden love, a healthy dose of agonizing angst and some sweet romance-you bet! That and a whole lot more! I can hardly wait to read the next installment! Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read!
1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Disappointment By Mwright274 This is a review of the entire series. I normally like stories like this, but I had little respect for these characters. Why would she want their relationship to be public when she was a student in his class and his intern?! That would make both of them look bad. I know it's hard to be in a secretive relationship, but you bear through it temporarily and keep your mouth shut! Why didn't he try to talk her out of it? I kept hoping the book would get better. She would get upset about the dumbest stuff and he'd let her walk all over him. With all the hiding Summer did when it came to Brandon, she should thank her lucky stars Chase didn't kick her to the curb! Yet, she gets upset that he handled things without telling her? They didn't seem very good for eachother. And what a lame ending! His proposal was horrible! Was her purposely trying to upset her? Just tell a girl all the things you love about her and how you never want to be without her. Then it just ends after a brief reflection? Lame!! The story was too predictable and frustrating.

(Getting on her newsletter is a great way to learn about her releases faster at elliedanes.com)Chosen by Him is off to a great start with a steamy, seductive and suspenseful thriller about 24 year old Summer Farris and the tall, dark, handsome and mysterious Chase Kerns. I love how bold the characters are and I especially love how the author has great supporting characters in her books that add a great spin and depth to the story. Although her recent series, and this one, seem to be short reads, they are very exciting and perfect for a quick escape.
