0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. GOOD but not great! By Lene More like 3.5 stars but rounded up because I read it through Kindle Unlimited. I liked it but I would have been more disappointed if I had purchased the book. It was good not great. The storyline was cool but I disliked the flashbacks (which were long and popped up a few times throughout the book) and the grammatical errors. The sex scenes were also lacking in detail which made the book a little dry. I also disliked how their conversations seemed so vapid, for example: "How are you?" "I'm cool. How was your day?" "Boring." "Do you hear me talking to you?" "Yeah." "Come upstairs with me." "Okay."The conversation at times just seemed one-dimensional at times, not very stimulating. I did like Rahmel. He was truly a good dude! Ace was nutty for real. I liked how the author connected Ace to the beginning of the story too, so he wasn't just a random guy who wanted to be with Kandy. I also thought Shanice and Kandy Yams' relationship was cute. Glad Shanice told Rahmel the truth. Jasmine and Mike had a cute little relationship too! Glad that Jasmine and Kandy reconnected and shared a genuine friendship. That ending had me frustrated tho. I was trying to figure out why Rahmel didn't just go with Kandy to Ace's house to get her things and why she was left alone at that hospital at the very end. SMH!

The loss of her sisters led her to believe not to trust or love again freely. I actually thought Ace was going to be her knight in shining armor but he was actually an angel in disguise. I liked Mike and Jas together and I hope their relationship lasts. I liked Mel as well and I truly hope he saves the day! Really good read, even though it was a bit short.

I sure hope everything works out for Kandy and Mel - I truly believe he loves her. That Jas was something else - but proved to be a true friend. I hope her and Mike's relationship continues to progress - there is definitely more to her story which I hope we get answers in the next book..... BTW, where is Part II already!! LOL
