An adequate beginner's guide, but quickly outgrown By Kat Caffee I'll frankly admit I picked this one up because it was free, and I thought I knew just how new to the marketing game I am. However, after reading this very short book, I found myself very disappointed in the lack of information included. For someone brand new to the internet, this book probably has value, but for someone with even a few months of experience, most of the information contained in here will prove redundant.It does have a nice overview of the most common platforms, but there is very little explanation for how to obtain content, or present it. The few mentions of engagement with others are extremely vague and lackluster, which left me as confused as I started. The sections on the major platforms - Twitter, Facebook, and blogs I felt should have had a little extra depth, since these are the most common marketing foundations for everyone.Overall, this was a disappointment and a surprise.

I have read all of Marie Bostwick's novels, even the ones that are no longer in print. I love her books. I have all of them. Her books are guaranteed to keep you in your comfy armchair and read till the last page has been turned. Her writing keeps getting better and better every time she churns out another book.This one is not one of her Cobbled Court books, which is to my surprise. I depend on the Cobbled Court series to get me through another busy season of raising two ornery kids, but this book is even better. It is about Lucy coming home to Nilson's Bay, WI, since her older sister, Alice, died unexpectedly. As part of Alice's will, Lucy has to live in the cottage that she has spent her entire adult life running away from for eight weeks before she can sell it and go back to Washington, D.C. where her boss just became the elected president of the US.Lucy reluctantly stays in Nilson's Bay for the required eight weeks to finish out her requirements before heading to the White House to resume the frantic pace of her harried life as an campaign manager. She meets up with the FOA girls, who happened to be Friends of Alice as the town dubbed them and with their help, she learns how to quilt. And along the way, she learns more about her sister, who left a gaping hole in folks' lives than Lucy has ever realized. She realized that she doesn't have the sole right to miss her sister as Alice has befriended everyone in Nilson's Bay, even her own lawyer, Peter, who also happened to be Lucy's high school crush.This is a lovely novel about a woman who was forced to take several steps back to step away from a busy and storied career to realize that life is more than just winning campaigns. It is also a great story of how a woman finds the small joys in life are actually the big things as well.I rely on Marie Bostwick to produce these gems of a novel and if I have to be really honest, this one is my favorite yet.

Branfield A truly unforgettable journey of grace and healing, The Second Sister by Marie Bostwick is a very emotional novel of family, forgiveness and friendship. It is also a heartfelt and engaging story about making peace with the past and letting go of mistakes in order to move on and embrace the future.Lucy Toomey has spent her entire adult life avoiding her small hometown in Wisconsin. Despite her older sister Alice’s numerous pleas to visit, she has not returned home in the eight years since her parents’ deaths. When she learns that Alice been hospitalized and is in serious condition, she drops everything to rush to her sister’s side, but unfortunately Alice passes away while Lucy is still en route. Planning to leave as soon she settles her sister’s estate, Lucy is stunned to discover that the terms of Alice’s will stipulate she live in the family home for eight weeks in order to inherit or the house will go to a local animal rescue. She reluctantly remains in town where she eventually discovers startling truths about herself, her sister and their somewhat complicated relationship. Lucy also unexpectedly finds friendship and, quite possibly, love but will this be enough to change her mind about leaving the small close-knit community for good?Lucy lives life at a frantic pace and she allows herself very little time to think about anything other than her demanding career. Her childhood was spent in the shadow of her older, more accomplished and outgoing sister and she could never live up to her father’s expectations. In the aftermath of the tragic accident that left Alice mentally impaired, Lucy was overcome with guilt at the events of the day and she could not wait to leave her unhappy memories behind. Although she has achieved a measure of professional success, her personal life is devoid of friendship or love. The Gold Standard For SAT Prep By Geoffrey Kleinman In 2016, The SAT's go through the biggest change in their history, making a study guide an important tool. Kaplan has been one of the leaders in this space and their top offering is this "SAT Premier" edition. This edition includes a massive study guide, a DVD and the online edition. Kaplan has taken the occasion of the new SAT test to revamp their study guide. This edition weighs in at nearly 1337 pages vs 819 pages for last year's edition.In addition to more stuff, the new SAT Premier 2016 has a much better organization of information. It's much easier to get through this book to find what you are looking for and get the info you need. As with year's past, the real jewel of this book is the online edition which has detailed video tutorials in each section, which are much more helpful in context. There's also a DVD which is a good entry point and works well to help reduce the stress and anxiety of the test.Interestingly, Kaplan trimmed down the number of practice tests. The previous edition had 8 total, while this one has 2 in the book and 3 online. The reduction makes sense as doing 8 practice tests is a little excessive. Given how much in-person SAT test courses cost and how much you get in this book for the money, it's hard not to recommend this immense SAT resource.

Review In Book, DVD Lessons, Paper Tests Inside Plus More Tests Online By ChristineMM This is the third Kaplan 2016 SAT book I have skimmed to review. My new opinion is if you are going to buy one book, buy this one not the Kaplan New SAT 2016 Strategies, Practice and Review with 3 Practice Tests: Book + Online (Kaplan Test Prep).Anyhow this book "Premier" has the most bang for your buck. It is a three inch thick book that contains two practice tests inside and online access to three more full tests. It comes with a DVD with lessons and tips to watch. The online work you do is adaptive, meaning it changes based on your weaknesses and strengths so you only do online practice for what you need. Of course it also has the in-book review and tips and strategies.There is a mobile version to access the online content from a mobile device.Also if you want more practice tests on paper you can also buy Kaplan 8 Practice Tests for the New SAT 2016 (Kaplan Test Prep) which has 8 paper tests inside (but no general review).The price difference is not much so I recommend getting Premier.What I say about their money back guarantee still applies: they tout this on the front cover and when you read the details inside the front cover you learn that you must request your money back within 90 days of the purchase, in writing, and you need to produce your sales receipt. My complaint is that the test results take about six weeks to get back, and students should be prepping prior to six weeks beforehand, so they are cutting it close to expect you to be dissatisfied with your SAT score within the 90 days.

Almost overwhelming in the amount of information By sanoe.net Kaplan's New SAT Premier 2016 is 3 inches thick and frankly, 30 days to go through it in order to do a review isn't enough time. That's just for the textbook and not counting the dvd and online resources. It is well organized with practice and extra practice questions. It actually runs the risk of being too much information but a student with good time management and a plan could work well with it.

About the Author Ronald W. McLeod, Ph.D., is a human factor specialist who combines strong academic credentials with more than 30 years industrial experience in Human Factors and Applied Psychology. He founded Nickleby HFE Ltd, in 1990 and was both Managing Director and Technical Director until 2007. His team provided services in applied research and system design across industries including defence, oil and gas, nuclear power, aerospace, and financial services. In 2007, he joined Shell as Global Discipline Lead for Human Factors and continued to work there until February 2014. At Shell, Ron led a global team of Human Factors specialists and was responsible for Shell's Design Engineering Practices on Human Factors Engineering, as well as assurance of technical competence of both Shell and contractors staff. He was also one of Shell's lead Subject Matter Experts on Fatigue Risk Management. He left Shell in February 2014 to pursue interests in writing and now works part-time as an independent consultant. Ron earned a B.Sc degree with Honors in Psychology from the University of Stirling, an M.Sc in Ergonomics from Loughborough University of Technology, and Ph.D. in Engineering and Applied Science from the University of Southampton. He is Honorary Professor of Engineering Psychology at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland. Ron is a registered member of the Institute of Human Factors and Ergonomics, and is a member of the Human Factors Society and the Society of Petroleum Engineers. He has contributed to numerous industry best practices and guides produced by organizations including IOGP/IPIECA, SPE and the Energy Institute. For this, the book is convincing by delivering the necessary theories and techniques accompanied with an abundance of compelling examples and stories which are spot on in supporting the theories handed over in the book.To bring his case, the author starts with a major accident already investigated in the past. However, by deepening the conversation extensively on these investigations, the author proves the potential influence of a better organizational and technical design of the work and the workplace. At the same time, he proves the need to understand the operator in his decisions and actions by trying to “get into his head”. This need and the value of Human Factors (HF) Engineering is then supported by more stories and examples.This is one of the largest strengths of the book. It contains many stories more or less close to the author and his nearly forty years of professional experience. These stories, together with an abundance of examples, supported throughout the entire book help express his opinions. Stories and examples prove not only the fact that the author has written the book as an “applied scientist” but helps the reader in understanding the complexity of human performance and it makes the reading of the book a real pleasure.Another strength of the book I enjoyed is the way the author translates scientific theories and his opinions derived from these theories in pragmatic “tips and tricks” (not my intention to disregard the value of these!).In that sense, one of my favorite chapters is chapter 11. Having read both Kahneman’s Thinking Fast and Slow and Reason myself, I appreciated very much the way the author ”reconciled”. The author represents both theories and the links between them so you don’t even need to read the previous books - another credit to the author. The following chapter 12 where the author “operationalizes” some System 1 biases (out of Kahneman’s book ) is another good illustration of the pragmatic value of the book. One of the main and, in my opinion, most important lessons of the book is explained here at its best: that people can and do react in an irrational way as consequence of six biases. The oil and gas industry is not free of these biases and this is explained again with realistic examples for each bias which is another example of how well-founded the author opinions are represented.All of the above leads me to, in my opinion, the mean reason I would recommend the book: the very solid theoretical basis but, even more importantly, the equally solid pragmatic and realistic basis that can exist out of the real workfloor-a world that the book and the author present.An important issue that is sometimes avoided and omitted by literature that is too focused on theory is the need for a solid equilibrium of costs versus benefits. Not only is the issue included in this book, but the book has an extensive elaboration on costs and benefits and covers the different perspectives of the involved actors. Again, this extensive elaboration is thanks to the vast professional experience of the author.Another part which in my view is very useful for the application of Human Factors Engineering is Chapter 6 which couples the principles of HF Engineering with the “hard truths” of human performance. I must say that in my professional work as an inspector and investigator, I encountered the same hard truths.I welcomed the treatment of “critical tasks” as it surely deserves a place in this book. So does “weak signals” as there is still a large lack of knowledge about this topic. The book delivers creditable progress in this field.Another topic I enjoyed finding in the book was the issue that more automation brings “automatically” more safety whereby one has the risk of neglecting the fact that all too often “by automating the simple things the operator is left with the increasingly more difficult things” as the author puts it correctly. Out of my personal experiences as an inspector, I have found this to be a quite common fallacy found in the industryThe book is not only bringing forward and stressing the problems, issues, challenges and clear needs but also solutions (systematic methods, tools, techniques, advices) which are well considered and linked to the forgoing parts of the book.As an inspector and investigator, I promote barriers thinking myself in the major hazards industry. I also experienced the gaps that can arise when different actors pass through the cycle of concept, risk assessment, design, construction and the final performance in operations. So it was no surprise that I appreciated Part 4 of the book.Again the author proved the importance of the content in chapters 15 to 19 by his deep explanations on the investigation of Buncefield.I expect that after chapter 20 any reader who has read the book up to this part will be convinced about the need to improve the implementation of HF Engineering.Well lucky for the reader, the book doesn’t stop there … on the contrary, the author proposes in chapter 21 thirteen elements necessary for success in delivering high levels of human reliability by design. And so the reader is offered the necessary advice in useful recommendations for improving the implementation of Human Factors Engineering in company projects.Chapter 22 reminded me of another strength and useful feature of the book: the author repeatedly places, where necessary, links and refers the reader to the different other connected parts of the book.As an inspector, I not only audit/inspect the way companies do their investigations but I also have to do accident investigations myself and so the topic treated by chapter 22 “Human Factors and learning from incidents” is in itself very important for my profession. I can say that although much was already known and familiar to me, the content was still refreshing and therefore useful. For someone new to Human Factors and who wants to improve investigating skills and knowledge, this chapter will be very valuable.There is no doubt I loved reading the book. As a final credit: many “softer” topics in Safety I and Safety II were (up to now) too fuzzy for me, although I had read a lot about them. The fuzziness is gone after reading this book!So after so many qualities and good points is there anything that could be improved?Well the book covers a lot (which in itself is good!!) and is therefore thick so the reader needs some time to get to the end. Therefore, I wonder if a part of the target readers the author wants to reach and convince-especially investors, senior managers, insurance companies, financial press-will take the necessary effort of reading all the critical material.I would suggest that the author would take this in consideration even more then he already did.This could be by including a list of suggested chapters at the very beginning of the book to focus on in accordance with the reader’s professional profile. By Lady Boss I have to say this was a good read.It started off slow but then picked up and hit hard.Josie is in a deep situation at the end when Leslie died.I can't believe that happen she definitely didn't deserve that.But at least it brought Josie and Kennedy closer. Idk who Josie should be with.I can't stand Raven and her disrespectful self.I wish Paula would let them know why Tiffany looks like them.Vivian Blue you did amazing job on this story and I can't wait to read the next part. Good 1st Part.

Josie is slick at the mouth but you got to love her. Josie relationship with her mother is strain after she abandon them for her new husband and family. Josie and Ashley are boosters an when a detective visits the shops Josie antennas are up. Josie is seeing Leslie brother Kennedy as a sex buddy but when feelings get involved things get messy and drama pops off and ends in bloodshed and th drama has begun.

I liked it but I would have been more disappointed if I had purchased the book. It was good not great. The storyline was cool but I disliked the flashbacks (which were long and popped up a few times throughout the book) and the grammatical errors. The sex scenes were also lacking in detail which made the book a little dry. I also disliked how their conversations seemed so vapid, for example: "How are you?" "I'm cool. How was your day?" "Boring." "Do you hear me talking to you?" "Yeah." "Come upstairs with me." "Okay."The conversation at times just seemed one-dimensional at times, not very stimulating. I did like Rahmel. He was truly a good dude! Ace was nutty for real. I liked how the author connected Ace to the beginning of the story too, so he wasn't just a random guy who wanted to be with Kandy. I also thought Shanice and Kandy Yams' relationship was cute. Glad Shanice told Rahmel the truth. Jasmine and Mike had a cute little relationship too! Glad that Jasmine and Kandy reconnected and shared a genuine friendship. That ending had me frustrated tho. I was trying to figure out why Rahmel didn't just go with Kandy to Ace's house to get her things and why she was left alone at that hospital at the very end. SMH!

The loss of her sisters led her to believe not to trust or love again freely. I actually thought Ace was going to be her knight in shining armor but he was actually an angel in disguise. I liked Mike and Jas together and I hope their relationship lasts. I liked Mel as well and I truly hope he saves the day! Really good read, even though it was a bit short.

I sure hope everything works out for Kandy and Mel - I truly believe he loves her. That Jas was something else - but proved to be a true friend. I hope her and Mike's relationship continues to progress - there is definitely more to her story which I hope we get answers in the next book..... BTW, where is Part II already!! LOL
