I'm currently studying for the EMT exam and have been purchasing books in preparation.I read through a couple chapters to get an idea of how this book was written. I plan to come to this book after I've gone through my current materials that I'm reading.My first impression is this book is written in a format that's easy to understand. All the pertinent topics for the exam are there. Each topic is followed with discussion.This book, I feel, is for the slightly advanced person. There seems to be some assumption that the test taker has an adequate amount of knowledge. The basic explanations are therefore present but not discussed in full detail. There is nothing wrong with this book in that sense.There are some books that start you off at zero, discussing everything step by step in detail. Those types of books have their place in beginner test preparation.This book goes past that as mentioned. I feel this would have its place towards the end of test prep. It would serve as a good material review and refresher right before the test. Once I finish my initial prep, I plan to incorporate this book.

I have recently completed my EMT certification. I took a look at this book and wished I had it during my class. We had a lengthy textbook for our EMT class, which you had to read pages and pages to find what you were looking for for test prep. I like how this little guide has straight to the point information under clearly written section titles. This textbook is easier to read than the textbook required for the class I took. There are also practice exams in the back of the book, which seem really helpful to test yourself before a final exam in class. This textbook takes out all the fluff and provides straight to the point information. I enjoy this, and if you are in an EMT class I would suggest buying this for quick reference to any questions you may have! I received this at a discount in exchange for my honest review.

By Amazon Customer I received this product, EMT Basic Exam Textbook: EMT-B Test Study guide book & practice questions by EMT-B Test Prep Team. First off I want to say that this book has been very helpful. I am currently an emergency medical responder who is looking into taking an EMT basic class to better myself. I am in nursing school and eventually want to get my paramedic. I have looked through this book and it seems to cover all the topics that the National registry of emergency medical technicians test will cover for an emt basic course. This book seems to be very good for anyone who does not necessarily any medical experience or background. It is very simple and laid out with easy language and clarity. There is several sections in the book but that last one is a practice test compose of many different types of questions. This book seems to give a decent amount of rationales for each thing that it covers. Unlike many books, it is not only a review but also a great teaching and studying book. All the information seems to be correct and up to date. I really love that it has a detailed rationale for each question because it helps so much knowing why you missed this question and knowing where you went wrong so you can go back and look over or restudy that section. This book also gives you some test taking strategies that may help some people who are not used to test or not so fresh out of high school or college. I would recommend this book to anyone who is in or plans to take the EMT-B course regardless of whether or not this book is required. It has so much helpful information that is broken down into easy segments to study. You will not be able to find a more helpful book for this price. If you just need a refresher on some things, this would also be a good option because you do not have to read every section. You could just take the practice and then review the information that you cannot remember. I would suggest this book to fellow coworkers and anyone who is considering buying this book. However, I did receive this book at a free or reduced rate for an honest and unbiased review for a seller on amazon trader.
