Odell Brief but enjoyable and thought-provoking history of southern Vermont's doomed West River Railroad of the late 1800s and early 1900s. A fantastic portrait of rural New England during the time period, the national obsession with rail travel, and how even fiscal disasters can be social successes. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates Yankee local histories.
