From the author of The Persaud Girl Series She is efficient at finding ‘perfect men’…. And they are efficient at breaking her heart… There comes a time when a girl has had enough, and ‘unlucky in love’ Fashion Designer Margaux Channing has had enough. She’s had enough of being swapped for someone better, enough of fleeing cities and countries to escape some man who broke her heart, and enough of ‘being kicked in the boobs and crying on a bathroom floor somewhere’. If you can’t stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen is Margaux’s newest mantra, and that’s exactly what she plans to do. No more falling in love means no more heartbreak and by extension, no more running… Until she runs (literally) into a charming, handsome, and equally cynical man who reminds her that it doesn’t matter how far she runs (or not), true love will find her, especially when it isn’t planned, but simply happens By Design.

About the Author Teisha Mott got the writing bug when she was only nine years old, after being ‘frustrated with the storyline’ of the novel she was reading. Her dream of writing ‘the world’s best novel’ was put on hold in favour of an MBA and a career in Internal Auditing. She eventually returned to her first love – writing young adult fiction, and created ‘The Persaud Girls’ series. After ‘surviving’ five years in Paris, Teisha relocated to Manhattan, and when she is not writing, she is indulging in retail therapy, watching a play on Broadway, or travelling. Good, just not for me By Phil Bolos By Design by Teisha Mott follows Margaux as she works her way up the tanks in the fashion industry and falling in and out of love with green-eyed Evan. Margaux’s grandmother created Izzy fashion, a design company that started small and then exploded onto the fashion scene and created home bases in New York and Paris, the fashion capitols of the world. When grandmother retired, Margaux’s mother took over. Margaux assumed she would be next in line since she inherited the design gene as well. But, a little forgetfulness derailed that train when Margaux flew to Jamaica for some down time and missed the biggest meeting of her life, and possibly Izzy fashion as well. To prove her worth, Margaux created a new line of fashion and held a massive show to prove her worth to her mother. The next day, as phone calls rang in and orders lined up, Margaux knew she had proved her value to her mother. Then a phone call changes everything when Evan, the green-eyed heartthrob from the past, comes back into her life. Be Design is definitely not the genre of book that I would pick up on my own. I am not interested in fashion or in romance, but this read moved at a decent pace and kept me somewhat interested. The beginning could use a stronger hook and most of the characters come across as being rude and self-absorbed. However, I feel that this shows some talent on the writer’s behalf for being able to create such characters. Again, not the type of book for me, but it held its own and I am impressed by that.

By Maria After having her heart broken several times as the result of long relationships that ended quite badly, fashion designer Margaux Channing has had enough and decides to shut down her love window, sticking to the mantra "If you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen".Margaux's love for fashion has its roots in her own family, with a fashion business her grandmother started and then she continued running. All the fashion ingredients and the travelling to different places add color and entertainment to the novel. With a profitable business in her hands and no time to waste, Margaux tries to devote her passion and time to it, but surprisingly for her and after trying to avoid any kind of love relationship, she is again faced with love, perhaps the love of her life. Who would say no to that?I loved the idea of this novel: a successful, independent woman who, after many failed relationships, decides to concentrate on her career, but that does not lasts for too long. The saying “lucky in cards, unlucky in love” has a small role in the story, and Margaux proves it.

A Romance, story set within the Fashion World By JA Armstrong This Romance takes you into the fast paced world of Fashion where Margaux Channing is constantly setting herself up for failure when it comes to love. Once she meets Dr. Joshua Heaven (no pun intended) however, her luck seems to turn around. Wary of love and terrified of having her heart broken again Margaux, reluctantly allows Josh to “woo” her while she is on Vacation in Jamaica, but will it wok out once she gets back to the Fashion world in New York (and in vicinity of her Ex Evan)?I really loved to hate Margaux, she was egotistic, bullying, demanding, unreasonable and selfish. If you saw the movie: “The Devil wears Prada”, then you know what I mean. It seemed like nothing pleased her. Even when she was on Top of her game she would complain how the world hates her. I don’t mind my characters being driven and a bit edgy, but I think that the author really strove to make this girl a hard cookie. Other than that, the story was nice, the people within were relatable and the ending was satisfying.
