1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Veil (Paperback) This is a very powerful play that allows us to view the pivotal events of Good Friday from a unique perspective By Martin Hogan This review is from: Veil (Paperback)This is a very powerful play that allows us to view the pivotal events of Good Friday from a unique perspective, that of the family of Veronica, the woman whom tradition has assigned the role of wiping the face of Jesus with her veil as he travelled towards Golgotha. The crisis that engulfed Jesus on that day is mirrored in the crisis created in Veronica's family by her possessed brother. Veronica is deeply affected by both crises. Veronica's father, a member of the Sanhedrin who sentenced Jesus is death, is also engulfed by both crises. It is Veronica who brings to bear on her family crisis the life-giving power of Jesus' crisis. Like all good plays, this play is at its most powerful when it is performed.Martin Hogan, Mater Dei Institute of Education, Clonliffe Road, Dublin 3
