An easy to read book on a fascinating subject By John Hayes I have been interested in 3D printing for some time and it really is revolutionary.Elliot does a very good job of explaining it. You may be surprised at how many applications there are.It is true that we haven't seen the true potential of 3D priniting, but there are lots of examples in this book

Wu Summary: Cursory exploration tells you about how everybody is using it and how it's great, but fails to explain how it works, why it's so great compared to other, earlier technologies, or even clarifying how it differs from rapid prototyping in general. Note: Free download provided for evaluation.I very seldom review any of the many books which are offered to me for review - I was interested and excited when I read the email offering this to me for review since I've been following the technology for some time. Perhaps I'm not the target audience since I've actually downloaded a couple of things from Thingiverse and actually printed them on a Makerbot.Still, I can't imagine that this benefits those unfamiliar with the technology since the book reads like a laundry list of companies and industries that are using them, but fails to adequately explain how this technology is better or different from stereo lithography, laser sintering, or any of the other rapid prototyping tools that have been out there for decades.
