About the Author René Meyer received his science degree from Long Island University and undertook graduate studies at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. For more than 30 years he was the second generation manager of Long Island Indicator Service, a family business started by his father in 1959.

This book deserves more.Mr. Meyer has written an extraordinarily useful text on the subject of indicators. He's the owner of Long Island Indicator Service (LongIslandIndicator.com). By his own estimate he's serviced over 34,000 indicators.The book is a collection of useful information about (almost) every dial indicator and dial test indicator of recent vintage, based on his personal experience with them. If you just want to select an indicator for a project, or you have a problem that you want to fix yourself (to save money), this is the reference book for you.I'm speaking as a machinist with lots of experience making measurements.
