It has been my main or only study source for most rotations and I usually score around a 90 on the shelfs (so far peds, obgyn, surgery and family med). I am about a third through this one and am pretty disappointed with the explanations. Each question is good not only because of the right answer but why the wrong ones are wrong. Usually pretest explanations do a great job with both. Not that all of the explanations are bad in this one, but a lot of them seem to have the minimum and tell you what the answer is, instead of teaching with the answer.However this does have questions updated with DSM 5 which is the only reason it got 3 stars. Just don't expect to get the same thing out of this as other pretests.

About the Author

Shelagh Delaney was born in Salford, Lancashire. She is most well-known for A Taste of Honey, for which she won the Foyle's New Play Award and the New York Drama Critics Circle Award. She wrote the screenplay for the film version with Tony Richardson and was awarded the British Film Academy Award and the Robert Flaherty Award. Her other screenplays include The White Bus and Charley Bubbles, for which she won the Writers Guild Award. She has also written for television and radio and has had a collection of short stories published.

YOUNG GENIUS AT WORK By VAUXHAL@HOTMAIL.COM Delaney wrote this little masterpiece when she was only 18 years old, thus putting her among the ranks of Jane Auten and the like--though Delaney far surpases the young Austen in readability and emotional power.Any fans of Morrissey and The Smiths will find this work extremely interesting, as Moz has said in many interviews that at least 50% of his songs come from this work. Reading it, one can see exactly why Morrissey took such a liking to this play, it being a parallel (in many ways) to his own childhood landscape. As soon as I finished the last line of this play, I sighed, closed the book, opened it to the first page, and read it all over again. To sum up the profundity of this work I will use a quote that Morrissey used regarding Marr's guitar compositions: "you will cry for hours and hours and swim in the tears."

A play that changed the course of History By Caroline Stern Throughout literary history, it has always been the most controversial or polemical works that stand out from the others, and take their place alongside other trailblazing novels. This being the case, it is certainly very clear why `A Taste Of Honey' has come to be regarded as one of the most important works of the 20th century. In its time a revolutionary play, this piece has managed to live up to its reputation, even over the many years since its was first published. The reason this famed play became so successful in the first place was precisely because it touched upon so many tender issues that had been strict taboos until it was written. First being published in 1959, `A Taste Of Honey' was released at a time when the world was just starting to get back to normal after the second world war. In an era of turmoil and uncertainty, the issues depicted in the play were precisely the ones that dominated lower class Britain, but, ironically, they were not the ones that were shown by the media, for they were considered to be too lowly to be worthy of depiction. Shelagh Delaney's piece, however, changed this quite drastically for all of a sudden the very issues which the upper class public was trying to avoid, were shoved into their faces. Right from the start of the play, the author makes it quite clear that this will be no ordinary play; touching on such a wide variety of issues ranging from poverty to abortion and prostitution, `A Taste Of Honey' shocked viewers around the world for, for the first time, a play was showing the true realities that ordinary people coexisted with. Although stunned at first, audiences soon started appreciating the play for they began to identify themselves with different characters in it, and therefore started to relate to it, which increased there liking of the piece, making it a success. In a world were the rich dominated, poverty was shown as an acceptable status; In a society were values were highly held, a prostitute was the main character; In a community where families meant everything, a mother abandoned her daughter to go live with her new husband; In an ambience were medicine was still an almost unexplored field, abortion was mentioned; And in a place where a classic, suburban family was considered the only reality which could exist, `A Taste of Honey' was written.

5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. A Very British Play By Liam Fraser I found this play to be both fascinating and not the least boring. As said before, perhaps it is too British, but that is what the play is about; trying to find a moment of happiness in a post-war society that saps the very life out of you and stops you from ever bettering yourself. The storyline may seem "simplistic" at first, but the richness of dialogue and its subtlety make for interesting reading and thought. If you have a pre-occupation with our drab and dreary little island then I would hartly reccommend this play, as it is very true to what it sets out to be. However, if you're "lucky" enough to live in a warmer climate then maybe this play just won't be your cup of tea...

Epic Silence in Small-Town Wisconsin By Eichendorff Zona Gale's "Miss Lulu Bett" was one of the greatest bestsellers of 1920: this was largely due to its unique style. Gale's prose is very terse: she avoids any kind of effusion, yet her disciplined, minimalistic sentences hint at so much, that there is a huge "weight of the unsaid." This style is appropriate to her subject matter: the lack of communication and the hypocrisy in a typical small town Midwestern family. Her characters always imply more than they say, and their lack of honesty wreaks havoc. Behind their shallow statements lurk desperation and unfulfilled longing. This novel is powerful in its own terse and reticent way.

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. A Woman's Journey By Angela W. This book is a journey for one woman who seems solidly real while surrounded by outlandish characters. There is something to gain in realizing that part of yourself is found in the title character, and something to learn when she takes her own route forward into the world. The book is outdated, but is still modern in its approach to women's place in society. I highly suggest the reading and research of this understated story. The play is also a worthwhile reading, and piques more interest as it adds a revised ending that was more pleasing to the crowd of the 1920's. It is an added interest that Zona Gale (the author of the book as well as the screenplay) is the first woman to win the Pulitzer Prize for Drama for "Miss Lulu Bett." Overall, Zona Gale is an amazing author, as everything she writes, every little word and sentence, was certainly well thought out and was meant to matter. The book is a trip to the past as well as a peek into a woman's part in life.

Poor Lulu By Bomojaz Lulu Bett, 34, lives with her sister and brother-in-law, and they have both turned her into a drudge and taken away her self-esteem and confidence. She hastily marries the brother of her brother-in-law, only to learn he was married before and his wife might still be alive. She leaves him and comes home. The abuse continues, only worse: they won't let her tell people the truth about what happened, making her take on the blame. She eventually builds up courage and leaves, to marry quickly again. This second marriage is a major fault in the book - it's too tacked on and hasty. Gale's tone and focus, though, are sharp.

With the arrival of nanotechnologies in the 1980s, the explosive development of novel carbon materials has attracted attention from both academic and industrial communities. A huge number of scientific publications and patents on nanostructured carbon materials have been published over the last three decades and numerous of them have been devoted to their use in catalysis. Compared with the conventional carbon materials, such as activated carbons, nanostructured carbon materials exhibit improved properties for catalytic applications: controlled porosity, good thermal and mechanical properties, and high chemical stability along with an acceptable price. Recently, a book entitled Nanostructured Carbon Materials for Catalysis authored by Philippe Serp and Bruno Machado has been published by The Royal Society of Chemistry. As a volume of RSC Catalysis Series, this book presents a timely and focused review of the most recent research efforts encompassing the introduction of nanostructured carbon materials and their applications in catalysis.

Many reviews and primary research papers on carbon materials have been published, but this book provides one of the first efforts to connect them in a very logical and organized way. It thus provides the reader with a holistic understanding of this area. Indeed, the book offers a collection of authoritative chapters on the fundamental understanding of carbon surface properties. This helps the reader to understand the challenges and potentials of the newly developing discipline. Generally, the book is divided into five sections: general description of the carbon allotropes and carbon materials; classification and structure of nanostructured carbon materials; introduction of adsorption behaviour and surface properties; applications of nanostructured carbon materials in catalysis, and engineering and safety issues. Each of these sections provides not only an up-to-date critical overview of a specific domain through examples from the literature, but what is in store for the future. For example, it summarizes well-established approaches for designed synthesis, and nanostructured carbon material size, and morphology control. It also discusses adsorption and surface chemistry of these materials, which have been often considered as "complex and poorly understood" by the catalysis community. Many applications are introduced, including the catalysis with supported metals for hydrogenation, oxidation, polymerization, and photocatalysis. Energy conversion and storage using carbon materials is described as well. Finally, the engineering considerations of carbon utilizations are provided, such as shaping, safety aspects and life cycle analysis.

Overall, this book is an excellent compendium of the current on the concepts and main achievements of nanostructured carbon materials for catalysis, both as supports and metal-free catalysts. Each contribution in the book is well conceived, organized, and will serve not only the technically savvy, but also the casual reader interested in learning more about the arena of nanostructured carbon materials in catalysis. This book deserves more.Mr. Meyer has written an extraordinarily useful text on the subject of indicators. He's the owner of Long Island Indicator Service (LongIslandIndicator.com). By his own estimate he's serviced over 34,000 indicators.The book is a collection of useful information about (almost) every dial indicator and dial test indicator of recent vintage, based on his personal experience with them. If you just want to select an indicator for a project, or you have a problem that you want to fix yourself (to save money), this is the reference book for you.I'm speaking as a machinist with lots of experience making measurements.

I loved Book 1 of the Santorno Series By AtlantaCraving Sandrine Gasq-Dion's books are always an auto-buy for me and I have read the entire Assassin series several times. I loved Book 1 of the Santorno Series, but "An Eye for an Eye" meandered around so much without settling on a plot line. I love the character and parts of the story should have been explored. The dialogue was also not up to her standards . . ."I love you, Me too . . .I need you, Me too . . . I am so hard, Me too!" Not sorry I bought the book and will buy her next book, but definitely not a 5 star effort from this VERY talented author.

The Santornos first showed up in the Assassin/ Shifter series, so I fell in love with them there. This series focuses on that family, only a long while before it. I like this series, but one of the pitfalls of this group is that they all have the same names, having been named after their fathers or their grandfathers, etc. So you have multiple generations and it gets hard to tell them apart. It is quite interesting to see how some of them came to be in the family, and a few of the guys they dated by didn't marry. We get to see Devin as Tanner and how he joined the group in high school. I am really looking forward to more books because at this point, only a few characters are out of high school, where as in the assassins, our guys are early to late thirties, even over forty in a couple of cases. Aside from the confusion about which character is which, the story lines ring true today. Teenagers finding themselves, coming to grips with their sexuality, the fear of what others will think. Through out this, Isabella's birth mother comes into the story and her hidden plans endanger everyone. It is fun to see the group come together to rescue their own. No one messes with these guys and gets away with it. Then you have one of the boys having a secret of his own in a house of accepting people, but when you are seen in such a way, it doesn't matter how great your family is. The kids, Damon especially, get in a lot of fights, but they are defending the weaker ones from bullies. Through the book, I found a kindness about the kids, they may be from a crime family, but they are good people deep down. They love with their whole hearts, they take care of the people that matter to them. They are fair, but if you cross them, look out. Being a teen is never easy, throw in being gay and life can be challenging. By surrounding yourself with good people and trusting the ones you love, you will be ok.This is only book two in this series, and I cannot wait to see how each of the santornos ended up with their partners. And I can't wait to see more about Devin. All the time before he was brainwashed should be interesting. I am curious to see if his personality is completely different when he was young or if some of what makes him him was always there. This really was a fun read.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Is this a book for adults? By KDW64 Let me start off by saying how much I love Sandrine Gasq-Dion's books. However, this was not one of them. This was so bad, that I simply could not finish it. I felt like I was reading a book written by a teenager for other middle School and high school kids to read! The wording and language in this story was so utterly juvenile that it made the the book silly. The story line jumped around so much that I became confused and frustrated. She added characters to the story without much explanation as to who they were, as if the reader should already know them.This book was written as if she had no interest in the characters or the story. The story had no substance and the characters were flat and uninteresting. If you have not read any of Ms. Gasq-Dion's books, please don't make this your first. If you are able to even complete it, you will never read another one of her books. Start with her Assassin Shifter and 12 Olympian series. You will love those books. This book however was just awful, I'm not even sure what it was supposed to be about. I have never been compelled to write a review for a book before, so trust me when I say save your money!!!Please, please, please don't write any more of these Santorno stories (the 1st one wasn't great either), because I just don't care and apparently neither does the author.

They key thing about this book was how detailed it was for harder laungages like C# and C++. This book explained everything and got started with coding in about a week of continuous effort!

A lot of job recruiters told me that learning programming would be extremely beneficial in finding a job, so I purchased this book to help me learn. It has really helped me improve my coding skills. The book is very clear and has a lot of great content in it. The book included a lot of great tips also for common uses for using the C programming language. I learned a ton from this book, it was extremely helpful.
