By A Customer It starts with basics and gradually builds the learning process of driving a stick shift. The subtle humour keeps reading fresh. Re-emphasis on important fundamentals throughout the book.

But you are never suppose to use your e-brake during driving. The term "e-brake" is a misnomer in itself. That lever is for parking and parking only. It is a secondary safety mechanism that was federally mandated because cars kept falling out of gear while parked. This is the biggest problem I have with this book. Second largest is that the last chapter does not teach any performance oriented driving skills as it claims. For a first time learner this book would be ok. Just don't pay attention to the parts about using the parking brake lever to hold the car at a stop while driving. It's too complex. Heal toe and practice. That will make a good stick driver.
