About the Author Hans Kull is the Managing Director of Informatic Technologies in Australia, which develops software for manufacturers, particularly mass customization projects. He was formerly the owner of Kull Informatik in Switzerland. Dr. Kull took his PhD and master’s in Mathematics from ETH Zürich (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology) and his bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering from the ZHAW (Zurich University of Applied Sciences).

What helped me was that it is very well structured, no needlessly long chapters going excessively into detail. One notices immediately that someone is writing with an understanding of what’s happening in practice.Assuming technological development progresses at the current speed, we have to accept that we are skating on thin ice. With that I mean the old uncertainty in software development on the customers’ side (with always new extension wishes) as well as on the technology side with ever faster processing speeds and new technical possibilities. Which in practical terms means always more money and never a finished project. In addition to that we have a lack of technical understanding on the customer’s side, combined with a theory-infatuation on the programmer’s side.What’s appealing about this book is that it doesn’t get too carried away with either the technology or the theory behind the IoT, smart manufacturing, etc. and gives you the confidence to skate on thin ice rather than just stand on the sidelines.

A real insight into current and future advancements in manufacturing without the hype By Adam Pitts There are a lot of buzz words and hype around the future of manufacturing at the moment. It was nice to read about the current and future technology advancements that are happening in plan English and from someone with hands-on industry experience.Because there are a lot of similarities in manufacturing, I found the authors approach of using specific examples really helpful. Often these types of books are void of real world applications and are therefore difficult to apply to your problems. Trying to improve your manufacturing processes can be daunting, especially today with so much information and technology choices. This book shows how simple it can be to make a start as long as you have the right approach and people involved.Whether you are a decision maker in manufacturing projects or just on any level somehow involved in them, this book is well worth a read.

By Ronnie Sejean Kull's book is a great help for those wanting to learn about Mass Customisation and it's importance in manufacturing, or even those who want to expand upon their existing knowledge on the subject.It flowed seamlessly and kept me interested from beginning to end!I purchased this great read with complete confidence and it didn't disappoint. I would highly recommend it to anyone with a passion for technological advancements, but especially those involved in the manufacturing industry!
