By Molly I should say that I love these books first and foremost because I love the 80's and 90's era Dodge (and Chrysler Corporation) performance vehicles. I grew up during this time period and learned to drive with a Plymouth Horizon. While driving this car, I would wonder just how it must feel to be behind the wheel of a GLH Turbo. The first car I purchased was an '86 Dodge Daytona Turbo CS that I took to college. That vehicle was an amazing car that I still cherish. So, to finally see books such as this one and also Greg's other published work on the Chrysler Laser/Dodge Daytona is a true thrill.That being said, I do find Greg's enthusiasm outpaces the reality of the front-drive, turbocharged marvels covered in these books. These were great cars, to be sure, but they certainly had their flaws and by the late 1980's, were being outpaced by both the traditional V-8 pony cars, as well as new front-wheel drive competition from other manufacturers. Mr. McCausey does not point out the market competition. His sweeping statements seem to intimate that all of Chrysler's problems would have been solved if they had just stuck to these designs. While this was a time I too can get nostalgic about, I realize that the rose-colored glasses through which I view all Mopars can make them seem better than the reality. This book seems to be more of a labor of love than a more objective, informational book that I had hoped for in keeping with other books of this genre.
1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. This is the book for Shelby Dodges! By Marvin Wiedenhaupt This is the best book I have seen so far on the Shelby Dodge connection. Other books I have purchased that claim to cover all Shelbys do not cover the Dodges like this one does.
