A varied collection By Deborah This is a pretty good collection the first story is a nice read and while there is another book this doesn't end on a cliffhanger which is a pet hate of mine.The second book however I'm not reading mainly because it will cost too much to continue on.As always with these collections it's a mixed bag some I liked more than others but ultimately it's free and it's not filled with already free books which are all cliffhangers like so many collections, so it's hard to complain plus 'Nightmare' I can't find individually only in this collection.While I gave all the books I read 3 stars I'm giving this collection as a whole 4 stars because it's so nice to find a collection like this.More Than Friends - 3 stars.Ryan's four year relationship with Brooke is finally over, he was never fully committed to it but now four weeks later he's struggling, he's forgotten how to be single after all they'd been together since they were both seniors at Jefferson High.Ryan's boss Paul drags him out for the night and they hook up with two women but Ryan's not really feeling the spark so maybe Drea's just not the woman for him. Anyway Ryan gives Drea a lift home and he meets her cousin Zach.I enjoyed this book and while there's nothing new or particularly deep here I liked both the characters and the way their relationship developed, I might even read the next book 'More Than Friends 2'The Love of Wicked MenPart one - freePart two - £2.28 for 71 pagesPart three - £1.99 for 82 pagesPart four - £1.99 for 85 pagesPart five - £1.99 for 82 pagesI don't know if this is the complete series or if there's more to come.Nightmare - 3 starsThis wasn't a book I expected to find in a collection like this, I wasn't sure at first I was going to like this and nearly skipped past it, since I couldn't find this available anywhere else I had no synopsis to go on so the content took me by surprise.Jonathan, his husband Noah and their son Jayden are fleeing for their lives, they currently live in Sweden but Russia having bombed the hell out of Kiev has angered the Europeans and things are escalating, the Baltic countries are gone, bombs have fallen on Helsinki and war rages from the Black Sea all the way up to the Arctics and if Sweden falls what chance does their family stand when faced with Russia's 'family values' so they make the decision to flee heading for Switzerland.This is a difficult read at times but it is addictive, once I'd got past the first couple of pages I couldn't read fast enough, having said this I prefer a lighter read and a guaranteed HEA, there's no sex at all in is book but it is a moving story just not my usually read.eXtreme Homecoming - 3 starsHunter Castille is a top motocross rider and his life is going well, or at least it appears to be but he's still hurting, the love of his life left in the middle of the night three years ago without a word, just a note for him to wake up to.Bastian has been stationed in Afghanistan for the last three years but now he's back and he wants HunterFor me this needed to be longer for it to fully work the issues here needed more time and space to sort out properly, it was all a little too rushed for my taste.Bonded - 3 starsDespite the fact that Chris wasn't totally happy or satisfied with his relationship with Philip it's still a blow when Philip breaks it off, especially considering that after three years Philip leaves a note for Chris to find when he returns from his business trip.Chris struggles to cope, not eating properly and spending way too much time at the gym, exhaustion is the only way he can get any sleep. It's at the gym where he meets first Greg and then Liam could Chris find what he's looking for with these two, could he fill the gap and find what he's been missing.This book isn't without its faults, I can't mention some without spoiling it but the main one for me was that it was just too short to deal with the issues raised but I liked the guys and I liked the story I just wanted more.
2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. a collection of very different stories By The Dreamer The stories in this collection are very, very different from each other although they are all on the themes of M/M relationships. A couple of them are your basic boy meets boy, well-done popcorn and good for a fun read. However, there's one stand out story "Nightmare" that really blows away the rest. It is not a romance or an erotica. It's about an established gay family in the near future who must flee their home to avoid war and persecution. A terrifying and emotional read. It would be interesting to see what this author could do with this material as a full-length suspense story. I would hope these events are unlikely but they seem very plausible and all too possible while you're reading the story.I rated this collection as five star because I was so blown away by the power of that story. Really pleased to discover Hans Hirschi and I'll be looking for more from him.If I had a gripe, I don't think the first story should have been More than Friends. It started with the guy pondering his breakup with his female ex and I came close to putting the whole book down. There's nothing wrong with the story, and our hero does ultimately find himself, but I don't think it's great to make the first few pages of an M/M book start with the guy moping over a breakup with a girl and then going out with his buddies to pick up girls. It makes for a slow start. I don't want to nitpick a free book though. It's obvious they put a lot of work into trying to have a good variety of stories to offer something for everyone. If one story is not right for you, another probably is!

For a freebie, some decent stories of M/M relationships and one M/M/M By Emma Jaye As with all anthologies, there were some stories I like better than others. In this case, I'm glad I kept on reading through a couple of stories that I didn't particularly enjoy to get to Sara York's story. It was tender and yet sext as three men help each other through their problems. The first story was also relationship based, which was my second favourite.The second tale, would have been a top contender, but I didn't like the way it ended as if at the end of a chapter, not a complete story.I did enjoy the way the author spun the characters around, the guys you think have 'white' or 'black' hats are all somewhat grey. The war one left me with a 'really?' feeling of disappointment.Overall for a freebie, some decent stories of M/M and in one case M/M/M relationships.
