Sebastian Thalanany advises organizations on the adoption of forward-looking and interoperable capabilities in the evolution of the mobile communications ecosystem. He advocates and influences the direction of ideas, consensus, and the progression of global standardization initiatives, in the development of emerging mobile Internet and LTE-Advanced specifications.Mr. Thalanany has chaired mobile technology evolution specification working groups, and is engaged in leadership, guidance, strategy formulation, and advisory roles, under the auspices of the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI), Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), Open Mobile Alliance (OMA), and Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) standards organizations. He has been an invited speaker at Informa conferences, on a variety of topics in the emerging mobile ecosystem. His experience spans interdependent, interdisciplinary, innovative, and experiential aspects of services, along with an evolutionary landscape of the mobile ecosystem.Sebastian is an executive scholar in leadership and strategy from the Kellogg School of Management. He is a senior member with IEEE, and has an MS in electrical and computer engineering from Oklahoma State University. He is currently with U.S. Cellular, Chicago, USA.

Yoshizawa I would categorize this as a book on the experiential facets of mobile systems from a forward-looking perspective. The book reveals integrative aspects, in terms of concepts and insights, which are foundational in mobile Internet systems, related standardization process for global interoperability, and life-style advancements.The author’s diverse experience and background is expressed in terms of unique views and perspectives, on the evolution of the mobile Internet, where art and science are integrated. Many of the references and quotes are interdisciplinary. An example, is the use of analogies from nature’s wisdom, which is integrative and interdependent (e.g. starfish, school of fish, flock of birds, etc.) as applied to self-organizing mechanisms in mobile systems.

We resonated on a variety of analogies between the technological evolution of mobile systems, and the natural evolution of life and society. There was a concurrence in our ideas on the similarities of the foundational building-blocks and behaviors, across systems of society, social hierarchy, and the mobile ecosystem - for example, the notion self-organizing networks. The narrative reveals the design benefits of exploring and applying the models from Nature, for the creation and evolution of sophisticated and useful features within the mobile ecosystem.His book gets beyond the technology silos and presents things from a different and broad perspective - merging of science and art, which I found very interesting. "

I have him to thank for giving me the resources to get up to speed on a whole new way of testing (programming and automation) and for making me a great deal more employable in the process. For tester/programmers of any level, this book is a tremendous resource and reference. In the book he lays the groundwork and good habits you will need in order to create a test suite that is maintainable and has lasting value. It's Java specific, so bear that in mind if you're currently tied to running Selenium under a different language, but many of the principles he describes can be applied in any language that Selenium supports.I cannot recommend this book and/or his video course strongly enough. If you're an old SQA dawg like I was with an interest in programming but very little practical experience, even if the thought of actually making sense of a Java IDE like Eclipse makes you tremble, jump in! There's much to learn but Alan beats a path that leads directly to creating automated tests in Java and Selenium with very little fluff or distractions. And if you persist you will get there in short order, and reach a level where you can begin to research and answer your own questions. I go back to this book again and again and always find something new to learn.Disclosure: I bought the ebook from his website and not from Amazon.

About the Author Diaz Nesamoney is an accomplished technology entrepreneur who founded three successful technology companies. Currently Diaz is Founder, President, and CEO of Jivox, a company that provides a technology platform for personalized advertising. He was previously Cofounder, President, and Chief Operating Officer at Informatica (NASDAQ:INFA), which he took from a startup to a publicly traded company in 1999. Informatica pioneered data integration software as a category and is now the market leader with more than $1 billion in revenue and a $4.5 billion market capitalization. Before founding Jivox, he founded Celequest, raised more than $20 million in venture capital, and served as its CEO until early 2007, when the company was acquired by Cognos/IBM. Celequest introduced the market’s first business intelligence and analytics appliance, a disruptive innovation that led to its acquisition. Diaz is a board member of the American India Foundation, a leading international development organization charged with the mission of accelerating social and economic change in India. Dense but not difficult, this guide to digital advertising is well worth your time By karen dabaghian I am one of those people who hates, absolutely hates online ads. But I am also a high tech marketing professional, so have to help my clients figure out their online presence on a routine basis -- key words and SEO and yes, digital ad strategy for lead generation and branding. So it was with great interest I read Nesamoney's book.Nesamoney is not a "dyed in the wool" ad man, which I find interesting. He comes out of the enterprise software market where he was an expert in large-scale data integration and management -- one of his previous company, Informatica, was all about building data warehouses that could produce actionable insight for corporate executives on all aspects of their businesses (customers, sales, finance, channel, etc). So now, Nesamoney is applying his deep expertise in large scale data management to the task of producing digital ads. This book is the outworking of his experience and as such, presents some unique ways forward for professional marketers who see the value and inevitability of using data to create personalized marketing and advertising experiences for consumers.The main point of the book is to convince brand advertisers and marketing executives at all levels that unless the digital marketing industry starts making ads relevant to individual consumers, we are going to keep blocking ads -- keep ignoring them and, frankly, keep hating them. The way to make digital ads relevant to consumers is to use the vast amount of data that is now available -- demographic data, browsing histories, publicly available stuff like weather forecasts and GPS, etc, -- to personalized ads to the level of the individual. The thinking is that if ads are produced and served at that level of granularity, the consumer will want to see the ad because it is relevant to them -- they are doing research on what appliance to buy for their kitchen and are comparing prices, that's a great time for Home Depot to send them a coupon for 20% off or an offer for free installation. The book provides many such examples, and tons of detail about how personalized advertising actually works. There are even practical worksheets included that help marketers think through their personalization strategy.The most fun part of the book though for me is the forward-looking material. What does our digital world look like when our Nest is sending us information at the same time as our FitBit and Apple Watch? How do we make sense of all this data and how can companies use it responsibly and respectfully so that we actually create great advertising experiences with customers rather than foist on them ads they don't want to see that interfere with their online lives. And for an older professional like me, it amazes me that the Millennials actually want their digital information to be used to educate companies about their preferences and interests and such. Privacy itself is even changing, and Nesamoney has interesting things to say there as well.Bottom line: if you are a marketing professional and your job touches digital advertising or digital marketing, you are going to want to give this a read. It is dense but not difficult. Nesamoney writes in chunks, which I liked because I could read it in short bursts rather than having to commit several hours to go cover to cover. I agree with the previous reviewer that Pearson (publisher) set the price a bit high, but the material is meaty and forward thinking, and a good guide such as this one is well worth the price tag.

There are some differences in location and the order of presentation. This is probably due to being a movie instead of a recording of the play. This book has the stage directions and dives in to the story so fast that if you did not know the essence ahead of time you could get lost. So you may need to read it a couple of times. There is good stage direction to keep you in the know where everyone is and their relationship to the thirteenth chair.Thirteen people gather in a locked dark room for a séance. Only twelve will emerge alive. Everyone and no one could have done it. The dastardly instrument is missing.

Thomas "Growing Your Social Media in 2015..." is the best book I've read in my quest to understand and leverage social media to build my business. It not only lists compelling evidence of the power of social media, but it goes into great detail describing a variety of platforms and telling you exactly how to use them. As a Baby Boomer and a late bloomer as a business owner, I expeect this book to be especially helpful in catching me up to speed with others who have been in business for years. In fact, the information is so current that I have no doubt it can help me surpass my local competitors. Galetic has done a wonderful job of telling me what I need to know in language I can understand. I'll definitely recommend this book!

About the Author

Glen Ballou is a graduate of General Motors Institute, now Kettering University, with a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering and a minor in Electrical Engineering. He has been a Syn-Aud-Con representative, has served as governor, convention chairman, papers chairman, and facilities chairman of the Audio Engineering Society (AES), and has been a member for the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE). He has been a contributor to S&VC, Sound and Communications, and Church Production magazine on a variety of subjects. Glen also wrote the chapter on capacitors and inductors for the CRC Press publication The Electrical Engineering Handbook. Glen is owner of Innovative Communications, a company that specializes in room acoustics and sound system design.

It has sections on acoustics, microphones, speaker types & placement, audio amplifiers and their technologies, mixers, and professional recording. This handbook isn't really created for the layman - there are no cut and tried easy answers. But if you are a professional in the field or have a serious interest in sound reproduction this book is a great technical reference. The information is generally clear and free from non-technical platitudes and instead concentrates on what is measureable and scientific.

Nielson sets a tone like a mentor who sits next to you when you are studying this book. Chapter 2 is very important for students who have never taken the SAT and it helps them to learn the tips of the test immensely.With those breakdown questions, tips and practices you will clearly understand writing rules and feel more confident in your test. Furthermore, it's not only a reference book for students to prepare for the SAT test, but it's also a great guideline for students who would like to learn (or relearn) grammar thoroughly. I suggest that you child starts early with this book and grasp the grammar rules and writing structures early on. Don't wait until high school, but start in middle school and build a good English foundation.This is highly recommended!

It is written in such a way that it is easy to understand and is extremely thorough. The concepts are laid out in a logical, easy to follow order, and each concept is explained in detail. Every small thing from definitions of words to reviewing simple concepts are explained in detail and leave me asking no questions. In addition, each concept is accompanied by many examples and practice questions to ensure the concept is understood. I consider myself above average in English and writing, but this book showed me that I still had a few things to learn.I highly recommend this book to anyone who is planning to take the SAT.

The content was written in an easy to explain manner- and it was very detailed in the concepts as it is specific to SAT writing. I feel extremely confident for acing the SAT writing section (usually never am!) and feel well prepared. In order to provide Sebak the heir he deserves and yet protect herself from the underworld gods, Anippe must launch a series of deceptions, even involving the Hebrew midwives—women ordered by Tut to drown the sons of their own people in the Nile.      When she finds a baby floating in a basket on the great river, Anippe believes Egypt’s gods have answered her pleas, entrenching her more deeply in deception and placing her and her son Mehy, whom handmaiden Miriam calls Moses, in mortal danger.   As bloodshed and savage politics shift the balance of power in Egypt, the gods reveal their fickle natures and Anippe wonders if her son, a boy of Hebrew blood, could one day become king. Mcilwain Mesu Andrews has a gift of taking God's Word, historical fact and creative fiction to produce stories that draws readers' hearts and minds to transforming biblical truth. When I read her books, I am driven to search out the Scriptures for the truth she is portraying in them.In her latest book, The Pharaoh's Daughter (book one in the Treasures of the Nile series), one of the overarching themes is this:"Fear is the most fertile ground for faith."Mesu tells the story of Moses through the eyes of Pharaoh's daughter and by doing so, she brings a brand new perspective to the biblical narrative. What I appreciate most about Mesu's writing is how she holds God's Word in high regard. Her artistic liberties do not in any way change or take away from the truth as it is revealed in Scripture, but makes readers think about how to apply God's truth to their current life and circumstances. I came away from The Pharaoh's Daughter with a renewed faith and understanding of the heart of God toward me as His own child in the midst of some of my own fears.Mesu's books are rich in detail and character development. Her thorough research is evident in how she transports the reader to a different time and place. Her writing is hard to put down once started. You will be blessed by The Pharaoh's Daughter and by connecting with Mesu!

9 of 9 people found the following review helpful. A phenomenal story!! By Kate In the last couple of years, I have plunged head first into Biblical fiction. Years ago, there wasn't as big as a selection as there is today. A part of that growth is in part to Mesu Andrews' books. And what books they are!Mesu Andrews has traveled around in the Old Testament from Dinah to Jezebel's Granddaughter. The range of research that she puts into her books is phenomenal and even though her work is Biblical fiction, she does her best to stay as true to the original story as presented in the Bible, but with added fiction to fill in and make the story more relateable and with a little more adventure.I have always loved ancient Egypt. It was one of my favorite eras to study in history class. There is just so much there and it all hasn't been discovered yet, which was just proven this past week with some archeological digs going on. Mesu Andrews just brought her beautiful writing, to my favorite time and my goodness how they mesh!I think it is safe to say, most people know the story of Moses, whether through Sunday school or Cecil B. Demil's classic that is a tradition in my house every Easter. We know Moses was raised in a palace and by Pharaoh's daughter. Mesu takes this story deeper and connects us more with a very thought out and possible timeline (one we may never know for certain, but this one was great!) and one that you didn't know where it would fully lead you after what is known.I wasn't sure how I would feel reading about Anippe, when we are first really introduced to her, she comes off as a bit spoiled, which I can get being with her a princess, but as you get to know her through the constant shifting time of life, I grew to care for her as her character opened up. I applauded her for standing up for her sister, who in all honesty, got so many second chances from her. Anippe had a deep love for Ankhe, even with Ankhe's firmly planted bitterness. I was back and forth on my feelings for Anippe's sister. How she was treated was heartbreaking by all of those who should have been closest to her, but her response was harsh and at times cruel.In comparison, Anippe faced her struggles with grace and she grew and learned from them. She had a deep love for her son, Mehy and in her way cared for his birth family. It was the connection that helped her to grow and be saved in so many ways. It opened her up to new possibilities.It was also in this story, that we get to meet Miriam. We are introduced to her as a young girl among the rushes, as she watched after her baby brother to being a midwife in the skilled labor slave camp where she and her family lived. After reading these parts about her, I can't wait for Miriam's story! Miriam was a gentle soul who cared and loved all those around her. I can't wait see how Miriam's story is expanded on.Mered was a wonderful character to read about. He has such love and dedication to his family, along with a strong friendship to Sebak, his master. Mered was honorable and he was valued for the work and dedication he offered. Despite everything that was going on and that he and his family were enslaved, he tried to keep positive for his family and those around him and also watching after to protect everyone.I thoroughly enjoyed this book! I'm so glad I closed out 2014 on such a high note.Thank you to the author, I received a copy of this book for free in exchange for an honest review.

A True Treasure By Carole Towriss These were the children of Pharaoh's daughter Bithiah, whom Mered had married. 1 Chronicles 4:18I love biblical fiction, and Mesu writes some of the best. Her latest, The Pharaoh’s Daughter is breathtaking. It is the story of Anippe, daughter of Horemheb, sister of King Tut, pharaoh of the Exodus. Terrified of dying in childbirth, it is she who finds Moses in the Nile, and passes him off as her son by her husband, Egyptian captain Sebak.The Pharaoh’s Daughter is a brilliant study of the sometimes brutal beauty of ancient Egypt. The viciousness of her brother and father are a stark contrast to Anippe’s soft and often confused heart. Motherhood and its responsibilities, effects, and choices, and in all its variations, is explored in depth through the life of Anippe and others.The novel follows Anippe from before her marriage through Moses’s adulthood. Her life follows a torturous path, but God works beautifully in and through it. One of Mesu’s themes is "fear is the most fertile ground for faith." You can see that in every chapter.I cannot recommend The Pharaoh’s Daughter highly enough. This is Mesu’s finest work yet.I was given a copy by the publisher and was not required to write a favorable review.
